As the new year starts we are seeing an increase in demand for hardware and popular cards and fobs. We are please to say that are stocks have return to near pre-covid levels. Some readers and system keypads are still not available as many of the chipsets are still out of production, HID smartcard readers are still not available and special orders can take up to 15 weeks. We are still counselling product reviews along with parts availability for any upcoming project.
December - Inventory Crisis

To many the last 6~10 month have been nothing short of a crisis management nightmare on how to source replacement hardware and credentials. It is unfortunate to say, the problems are still present and not likely to change in the foreseeable future. Manufacturing groups are still struggling with supply chain issues from and within the Asian markets. Many key players are ramping up domestic production or seeking other sourcing for their manufacturing, though these efforts are taking place it will be many months before we see an easement in the inventory shortfalls. Price increases forecast for July 2022

Important! We have been advised by our manufacturing channels that most cards and credentials will be subjected to increases. This is concerning as these increases are said to be between 10 to 20 percent starting July 1st, 2022. World events and rising fuel costs along with inflationary pressures are given as cause to these upcoming rate increases. Another wave of supply chain issues is becoming apparent as we see long delays in product back orders. Many industries are still not back to full product output, shortages of raw goods and electronic circuitry being the root cause. As always, Ashton Security Inc....

Optimism abounds! As we emerge from lock-downs and constricted work environments we are finally seeing an improvement to our supply chain delays. Things are near normal with the exception custom production of cards and hardware. As large manufacturing facilities work themselves back to full production they are still experiencing delays for custom work as they are focusing on their core product manufacturing. We are pleased to say that our inventories are back to near normal, this said, shipping and fuel costs along with political issues are still impacting costs of goods.
